摘要: Metal oxide nano-particles have definitely unique toxicological properties than currently investigated oxides. Therefore, this study was aimed to comparatively evaluate the genotoxicity of nano-CuO and bulk CuO particles on a model fish species Oreochromis niloticus. Fish were exposed two selected concentrations (1/10 1/20 LC50/96 h) both for 30 days. Genotoxic effects associated with DNA ladder formation chromosomal damage using fragmentation micronucleus techniques. Based hepatocytes, found induce damage. Analysis fragments initiated by agarose gel revealed pattern, which is commonly considered as hallmark apoptosis, while showed molecular necrosis nuclear into smear-like pattern. Also, further confirmed quantitatively image analysis software Image J. In context, nano-CuO-treated groups exhibited maximum especially at lower concentration (1/20 LC50/96 h). To ensure genotoxicity, other nine abnormalities studied in peripheral erythrocytes significant (p < 0.05) elevation observed nano-CuO-exposed followed decrease extent higher concentration, treated more or less dose-dependent effect.
