摘要: Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is characterized by an age-inappropriate level of inattention, with or without impulsivity and overactivity, that occurs across settings, causes functional impairment, cannot be attributed primarily to another disorder. It begins in childhood, although the observable symptoms change quality quantity development, most individuals ADHD continue experience some as adults. Because its prevalence, persistence, impairment it causes, labor-intensive nature management, extremely important affected individuals, their families, our health educational systems, for society a whole. subject generates strong feelings much controversy. purely behaviorally defined disorder, specific biologic marker, characteristics occur along continuum population. can several commonly associated conditions. no wonder challenge children, educators, clinicians, researchers alike. The goal this article provide current background practicing clinician regarding clinical, neuropsychological, neurobiologic correlates ADHD. This should base from which keep abreast new developments bring us closer answer question, "What ADHD?"
