摘要: We propose a global optimization method to optimize the parameters of two concatenated long period waveguide gratings (LPWGs) for generating desired target spectrum. The design consists LPWGs with different grating periods inscribed in guiding films four-layer planar finite over cladding. have used transfer matrix compute modes structure and coupled mode theory spectrum device. adaptive particle swarm has been generate symmetric as well asymmetric spectra. Two lengths To demonstrate we designed variety wavelength filters including rectangular shape rejection band filter, filters, flattening amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) an erbium doped fiber amplifier (EDFA), gain equalization filter (EDWA) C-band. Seven proposed LPWG optimized achieve obtained ASE ±0.8  dB peak-to-peak ripple case EDFA ±0.4  dB EDWA. study would be useful specific applications.
