摘要: Age estimation plays an important role in forensic medicine and orthodontics. Dental maturity, expressed as dental age, is one of the common indices for age estimation. Demirjian's method, first described 1973 based on a large number French-Canadian samples, most widely used methods assessment. The aim this study to evaluate applicability method western Chinese children. Digital panoramic radiographs 445 children origin, ranging from 8 16 years old, were assessed method. maturity scores (DMSs) ages all subjects calculated by single observer. compared chronological with paired t-test. general trend research showed that demonstrated more advanced previously presented Demirjian. mean difference each group between ranged 0.0071 1.2500 girls -1.0000 1.3000 boys. standards assessment provided Demirjian may be not suitable As result, specific should established population.
