摘要: Abstract Objective. Estimation of appropriate radial clearance ceramic-on-ceramic total hip prostheses to realize squeeze-film lubrication. Background. Some clinical results show that severe wear occurs at interfaces if the design parameters are improper. Appropriate is required optimum lubrication joint prostheses. Design. Squeeze-film thickness with different clearances was numerically estimated under physiological conditions normal walking. Methods. The changes in fluid film between ceramic balls and a cups various values from 10 80 μm were assumption walking by means elastohydrodynamic theory including three-dimensional elasticity. Results. minimum remained over 0.02 during few steps 20 head diameter 28 mm. On other hand, squeezed out when greater than 30 μm. Conclusions. can be realized prosthesis smaller on mm diameter. Relevance Fluid necessary prevent present investigation shows which for daily action.
