摘要: To determine whether virus-transmitting mosquitoes inoculate infectious particles extravascularly or directly into the vascular system, we permitted infected with Rift Valley fever virus to feed on distal third of tails suckling mice. Amputation half tail within 5 min after their being bitten significantly increased mouse survival as compared that mice whose remained intact. Even when were amputated 10 more mosquito feeding, median time death was longer in group (53.5 hr) than those intact (46.0 hr). Mouse did not correlate ingestion blood by infecting mosquito. We conclude extravascularly, rather feeding a vertebrate host. Such extravascular delivery transmitting may affect viral pathogenesis, antiviral activity, and vaccine efficacy.
