摘要: Degenerate four-wave mixing measurements were made on several Nd3+-doped laser materials by resonantly pumping the Nd3+ ions. The dominant contribution to signal under these conditions is associated with difference in polarizabilities of ions metastable state versus ground state. Absolute strengths imply a laser-induced polarizability change order 0.01–0.05 A3. results indicate that, for case single-shot amplifier system, beam distortion induced this population-induced refractive index comparable arising from thermal effects.
