摘要: Hypothesis Lack of expression the tumor-suppressor gene MKK4 is significantly correlated with poor survival after resection gastric adenocarcinoma. Design Retrospective review medical records construction and immunolabeling tissue microarrays for clinical correlation. Setting The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Md. Patients operated on because adenocarcinoma between 1983 1995. Main Outcome Measure Long-term status. Results Primary tumors (N = 124) were scored as 0 (no labeling), 1+ (weak or 2+ (strong labeling) in 9 (7%), 80 (65%), 35 (28%) patients, 5-year these patients was 0%, 21%, 28%, respectively. Given small size (7%) -negative group (as expected, given 5%-10% incidence genetic loss carcinomas), a Cox proportional hazards analysis performed, adjusting age, sex, tumor stage. This multivariate revealed 5-fold increased risk death ( P -negative. Furthermore, addition status improved model, changing log likelihood from −1410 to −369, confirming that truly effector difference not bystander. Conclusions lack resected robustly associated survival. finding may provide useful prognostic tool
