摘要: Summary Single cell activity was recorded extracellularly from the anterior hypothalamus with stainless steel or platinum-iridium micro-electrodes, in cats under light pentobarbital anaesthesia. The effects of photic, acoustic and sciatic nerve stimulation on rate pattern firing single cells were examined statistically. responsiveness to sensory stimuli following a conditioning caudate stimulus animals chronic lesions head nucleus, as well. Following 67.3%, 78.0% 68.6% responded significantly approximately equal numbers showing an increase decrease firing. A ipsilateral caused significant 67.2% cells, degree inhibition varying cell. Though bilateral percentage responsive there over-all change stimulation. Whereas control 85.1% showed convergence two three modalities same cell, this decreased considerably lesions. No such observed after contralateral lesion. present results thus demonstrate inhibitory effect nucleus its role hypothalamic units peripheral stimuli.
