摘要: Abstract The effects of the ipsilateral or contralateral caudate nucleus globus pallidus stimulation on spontaneous activity single cells in posterior hypothalamus, and their responsiveness to photic, acoustic, sciatic stimuli were studied cats. All responses statistically analyzed as changes rate pattern firing following stimulation. most units was inhibited by pallidus. stimulation, which more effective, caused a strong early inhibition diminished gradually, while sustained durng whole 2000 msec after also significant units. analysis relationship between striatal sensory cells, has demonstrated that affected mainly facilitated peripheral stimuli, no such observed These other differences suggest may affect certain extent two different populations hypothalamic neurons. interaction striatum themselves facilitatory, produced mostly decrease firing, indicating predominance central influence. Bilateral lesions midbrain reticular formation reduced percentage responsive stimulation; however, they have increased number stimulus. present results demonstrate straitum electrical role played extrahypothalamic structures.
