摘要: China is a populous country but lacks epidemiological data on keratoconus (KC). The present study aimed to investigate the clinical data, demographic and visual function (VF) of KC patients in Central China. A total 524 eyes 307 (217 bilateral 90 unilateral) from Henan Eye Hospital were included current study. Demographic VF assessed with questionnaires administered by well-trained staff during face-to-face interviews. Visual acuity value was examined qualified optometrist, measured professional clinicians. distributions sex, residence education level compared Chi-square tests, ratios people wearing glasses rigid gas permeable (RGP) lenses McNemar tests. General linear models/Chi-squared tests used compare according severity. Spearman’s correlation analysis test associations between mean age at diagnosis 20.98 ± 6.06 years, males had higher ratio than females (P < 0.001). Patients rural areas rate those urban (P = 0.039), proportion (above high school) 68.40% reported eye rubbing 3.52% positive family history. percentage that RGP score 69.35 ± 15.25. thinnest corneal thickness (TCT) stiffness parameter the first applanation (SP-A1) values inversely correlated severity (P < 0.05). mean, steep, max keratometry (Km, Ks Kmax) values, lens use keratoplasty positively (all P < 0.05). better VA decreased as increased (r = − 0.21, P = 0.002). comprehensively describes various associated features tertiary hospital China, providing reference for understanding characteristics patients in
