摘要: SEPT9 gene methylation has been implicated as a biomarker for colorectal cancer (CRC) more than 10 years and used clinically 6 years. Studies have proven it to be an accurate, reliable, fast, convenient method CRC. In this chapter, we will first provide the background on role of septin9 protein theoretical basis assay. We then focus performance assay CRC early detection screening by analyzing data obtained in clinical trials comparing its with other methods or markers. Finally, discuss future applications monitoring recurrence, evaluating surgery, chemotherapy, predicting long-term survival. hope chapter can full overview basis, development, validation, both basic science researchers practitioners.
