摘要: One of the key features next-generation mobile networks is ability to satisfy requirements coming from different verticals. For satisfying these requirements, 5G will need dynamically reconfigure deployment network functions. However, current deployments are experiencing difficulties in exhibiting required flexibility. At same time, research on connectivity provisioning use cases such as after-disaster scenarios or battlefields has converged toward idea Network-In-a-Box. This revolves around fitting all software and hardware modules needed by a single handful physical devices. A Network-In-a-Box inherently offers high level flexibility that makes it capable providing services wide range scenarios. Therefore, concept represents an alternative approach for networks. In this survey, we analyze state-of-the-art solutions proposed academia industry time frame starting 1998 up early 2017. First, present main which been conceived. Then, abstract common implementations, discuss how proposals offer features. We then draw our conclusions possible future directions, including steps reach even higher The aim analysis twofold. On one hand, provide comprehensive view other through analysis, should exhibit achieve their design goals. particular, show fosters transition
