摘要: 6.7 Gigatonnes of silicon are processed each year by marine organisms. Since it was known that is an essential element for many biological systems, significant advances in the biochemistry this have been achieved from classical viewpoint being a purely inorganic element. This article describes proteins, genes, and molecular mechanisms metabolism diatoms sponges. These studies may help to reveal role optimal development growth plants animals as well initiate new technological methods shape-controlled production patterned silicone-based materials.
