Results obtained relative (RR) using random effect model, assessed heterogeneity among χ 2 test quantified it I statistic. As compared never-smokers, RR were 0.96 (95% CI 0.86 1.08) for ever smokers, 0.95 0.81 1.11) former 0.92 0.82 1.04) current 0.87 0.70 1.07) moderate smokers 0.93 0.69 1.26) heavy Conclusions present meta-analysis provided no evidence consistent ever, former, current, across type study design.
