摘要: Objectives We assessed the feasibility of delivering Otago Exercise Programme (OEP) via an interactive DVD (ie, OEP-DVD) in combination with monthly physical therapist phone calls to older adults. Design This pre-post (baseline and 6-month follow-up) study included intervention group (n=61) based a rural location control (n=21) city. Setting Sechelt Vancouver, British Columbia. Participants 82 community-dwelling adults ≥75 years. Intervention Individuals received OEP-DVD were instructed do exercises 3 times week after their initial home visit for 6 months. Primary secondary outcomes Feasibility was ascertained by withdrawal rate compliance OEP-DVD. The number participants frequency weekly) they performed OEP walking used estimate compliance. potential benefit on falls risk profile (Physiological Profile Assessment (PPA)) mobility examined comparing change compared group. Self-reported exercise programme returned diary. Results Of participants, 2 withdrew from none obtained data 72% mean 87% 166%. After adjusting baseline PPA, age, sex, comorbidities, cognitive status falls-related self-efficacy, there significant between-group improvement overall PPA score (OEP pre-PPA post-PPA score: 0.79±1.2 0.7±0.9; p Conclusions Although resulted reductions among adults, notable loss follow-up limiting this approach.
