摘要: We investigated the homogeneous nucleation of nitrogen in a cryogenic expansion chamber [A. Fladerer and R. Strey, J. Chem. Phys. 124, 164710 (2006)]. Gas mixtures helium as carrier gas were adiabatically expanded cooled down from an initial temperature 83 K until occurred. This onset was detected by constant angle light scattering at vapor pressures 1.3–14.2 kPa temperatures 42–54 K. An analytical fit function well describes experimental with error ±15%. estimate size critical nucleus Gibbs–Thomson equation yielding sizes about 50 molecules lowest 70 highest temperature.
