摘要: Despite promising results observed using silicone rubber chamber, no previous comprehensive work was performed on behavior of the conduit. Present study aimed at further functional, histomorphometrical and immunohistochemical assessment nerve regeneration in same animal along a 10-mm rat sciatic gap. Fifty- four male Wistar rats were divided into three experimental groups (n = 18), randomly: Sham-operation (NC), Transected control (TC) conduit (SIL). In NC group after anesthesia left exposed through gluteal muscle incision haemoestasis sutured. TC way transected proximal to tibio-peroneal bifurcation leaving SIL distal stumps each inserted tube. Each subdivided subgroups six animals studied 4, 8, 12 weeks surgery. Functional analysis showed significant improvement function than (P < 0.05). Morphometric indices immuohistochemistry indicated there differences 0.05) between Silicone entubulation technique has offered hope providing method for achieving peripheral least harmful that is available, easily performed. Using tubes bridging defects could be because it inert does not induce extensive scarring or degeneration implantation.
