摘要: While experts have made recommendations, information is needed regarding what genome sequencing results patients would want returned. We investigated women diagnosed with breast cancer at a young age returned and why. conducted 60 semi-structured, in-person individual interviews 40 or younger. examined interest in six types of incidental findings reasons for disinterest each type. Two coders independently coded interview transcripts; analysis was using NVivo 10. Most participants were least somewhat interested all result types, but strongest actionable (i.e. variants affecting risk preventable treatable disease treatment response). Reasons varied between different types. Some not ambivalent about seen as currently actionable. Participants wanted to be able choose are distinguished results, wanting information. The suggest that focus on can common ground stakeholders developing policy returning results.
