摘要: Diabetes mellitus is an established risk factor for infections but evidence conflicting to what extent perioperative hyperglycemia, glycemic control and treatment around the time of surgery modify prosthetic joint (PJIs). In a cohort 20,171 total hip knee arthroplasty procedures, we observed significantly higher PJIs among patients with diagnosis diabetes (hazard ratio [HR] 1.55, 95% CI 1.11, 2.16), using medications (HR 1.56, 1.08, 2.25) hyperglycemia 1.59, 1.07, 2.35), effects were attenuated after adjusting body mass index, type surgery, ASA score operative time. Although data limited, there was no association between hemoglobin A1c values PJIs.
