Assessing the Perceived Needs of Patients Attending an Outpatient Melanoma Clinic

摘要: Among 300 randomly selected eligible patients with melanoma identified from outpatient records at a clinic, 198 signed consent form and subsequently received Cancer Needs Questionnaire to complete home return. these patients, 179 completed returned the questionnaire. The questionnaire includes items pertaining five categories of needs: psychological, health information, physical daily living, patient care support, interpersonal communication. Twelve melanoma-specific also were included. prevalence individual needs ranged 14% 43%, 6 10 highest-ranked concerned information. Patients' demographic disease treatment variables related within each category. findings suggest that more research is needed measure patients' routinely, identify groups specific needs, develop methods meet their effectively.
