摘要: Detailed chemical and mineralogical data are given for three sequences of basalts picrite from bore-holes in Western India. The show bulk compositional variation generated by the fractionation olivine chromite. Evolved basalt magma appears to have rise olivine+clinopyroxene, despite presence abundant plagioclase phenocrysts. It is suggested that a slow settling rate relative clinopyroxene sufficient account this feature. high degree equilibrium crystallisation which many lavas apparently undergone interpreted terms mechanism compensated crystal (Cox Bell, 1972). Experimentally determined atmospheric pressure phase relations used model dyke-like chambers some detail. Finally volumetric age relationships argue basalts, their porphyritic nature, crystallised ultramafic liquids containing cases at least 16% MgO.
