摘要: Penicillin concentrations in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) were measured at various hours and days of treatment 163 infants undergoing therapy for congenital syphilis. The CSF levels compared three regimens. Aqueous penicillin G (A-PEN), 100, 000 U/kg per day, was used 23 infants, a dosage 200,000 day 40 patients; procaine (P-PEN), 50,000 100 children. Mean 0.416, 0.493, 0.077 μ g/ml, respectively, the groups. mean concentration among 63 treated with either A-PEN regimens (0.465 g/ml) significantly greater than (0.077 those P-PEN ( p =0.68). All specimens obtained from patients who received A-PEN, but only 82% P-PEN, had treponemicidal (≥0.018 g/ml). However, 33.3% (9/27) tested between 18 24 after dose, g/ml. These data suggest that administration may be preferred if >0.018 g/ml are desired, especially severe disease or neurosyphilis.
