摘要: Abstract The time scan measured when a dispersion of nanoparticles is analyzed by single particle inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (sp-ICP-MS) typically made many intense short-lived spikes. On the basis theoretical arguments backed experimental data and statistical tests, I show that, in very dilute limit, there one-to-one correspondence between spikes present points discontinuity outcome homogeneous Poisson process. This relationship underlies random nature sp-ICP-MS scan. Furthermore, establish that stochastic processes describing nanoparticle arrivals sequence are fully identical, thus helping to place on firmer grounds frequently hypothesis regarding Poissonian character
