Ecology of Woodland Herbs in Temperate Deciduous Forests

摘要: ▪ Abstract The diversity of woodland herbs is one the most striking features deciduous forests in temperate zone. Here I review literature on ecology herbs. The timely because, since Paulette Bierzychudek's seminal subject 1982, a number species have become rare or threatened owing to conversion other land uses, competition by alien plant species, and increased abundance native wildlife that negatively impact (e.g., white-tailed deer). Although basic biology mostly known, few been studied detail, we are only able make broad generalities about their ecology. We especially lacking information needed conserve restore altered habitats.
