摘要: Objective: Kumaryasava (KS) is a marketed Ayurvedic formulation containing Aloe vera as the main ingredient. It has been used widely for treatment of liver disorders; however, there lack modern scientific data on hepatoprotection. The recommended dose KS high and up to 60 mL/day. present study describes preparation new concentrate evaluation comparative hepatoprotective activity prepared at one-third against CCl4-induced hepatic toxicity. Materials Methods: Animals were divided into different groups (n = 6). first group received normal saline (control) 1.0 mL/Kg/day p.o. 10 days. second (toxicant) was given days with CCl4 in olive oil (1:1 v/v) Third, fourth, fifth KS, standard) doses 5.0 p.o., 1.6 100 (tablet suspended water using 0.1% carboxymethyl cellulose) respectively along toxicant group. On 11th day, blood withdrawn from retro-orbital plexus serum separated biochemical estimation glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase (SGOT), glutamic pyruvic (SGPT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), albumin levels. Later, animals sacrificed under anesthesia remove tissue, which removed washed ice cold lipid peroxidation. Liver tissue each also fixed 10% formalin histopathological analysis. Results: Results demonstrated that both showed protection This evident reduction SGOT, SGPT, ALP levels, elevation levels observed post treated rats concentrate, supported by data. Conclusion: can be useful may help reducing approximately dose.
