摘要: TRYPANOSOMA BRUCEI is the causative agent of human African trypanosomiasis (sleeping sickness) which fatal if left untreated. This disease occurs in 36 countries, south Sahara, where 60 million people are at risk acquiring infection. The current chemotherapy relies on only four drugs, three were developed more than years ago. These drugs have many limitations, ranging from oral inabsorption, acute toxicities, short duration action and emergence trypanosomal resistance. Despite decades use most trypanocides, little known about their mode action. That being said, trypanosomes continue to be among extensively studied parasitic protists date. Many intriguing biological features been well documented can viewed as attractive targets for antitrypanosomal chemotherapy. A considerable number natural products with diverse molecular structures revealed antiparasitic potency laboratory represent interesting lead compounds development new urgently needed antiparasitics. major validated drug T. discussed particular emphasis those attacked by compounds.
