摘要: Purpose of review Many the almost 2 million HIV infections that occurred globally in last year among adolescents and young people, particularly those from East Southern Africa within key populations. Global epidemic control will require new these youth populations be curtailed. This examines most effective prevention approaches to reach adolescent next 5 years. Recent findings Adolescents are transition developmentally unique. They have specific needs challenges, which if not addressed result less than successful interventions. Tailored, layered, combination packages take into account involve biomedical, behavioural structural components recommended. These should designed for with meaningful input adolescents, their peers implementation execution. Where possible, age-appropriate health social interventions go beyond bundled offered a variety community-based venues already acceptable frequented by adolescents. Summary It is urgent we approaches. investment this population has immediate longer-term benefits.
