摘要: In a thin-walled piping network, the end of an elbow welded to straignt pipe constitutes one highly stressed cross-sections that require structural evaluation. Explicit rules are not provided in ASME Code for evaluation ovalization and fabrication effects at end. This paper presents conservative semi-analytical procedure can be used with simplified inelastic analysis evaluate cross section straight pipe. The concept carry-over factors is obtain stresses or strains introduced by material geometric nonuniformities process then added complete evluation girth butt-welded joint.
