摘要: OBJECTIVE: A twin neurosurgical magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) suite with 3-T intraoperative MRI (iMRI) was developed to be available neurosurgeons for iMRI and independent use by radiologists. METHODS: The designed one area dedicated neurosurgery the other performing under surgical conditions (sterility anesthesia). operating table is motorized, enabling transfer of patient into system. These two areas can function independently, allowing used nonsurgical cases. We report findings from first 21 patients undergo scheduled in this (average age, 51 +/- 24 yr; intracranial tumor, 18 patients; epilepsy surgery, 3 patients). RESULTS: Twenty-six examinations were performed, immediately before incision, 9 during surgery (operative field partially closed), 14 postsurgery fully closed but still anesthetized draped). Minor technical dysfunctions prolonged 10 procedures; however, no serious iMRI-related incidents occurred. Twenty-three took an average 78 20 minutes perform. In three patients, led further tumor resection because removable residual identified. Complete achieved 15 CONCLUSION: layout new complex allows open access system except when it conditions. Three benefited examination achieve total resection. No permanent complications observed. Therefore, feasible appears a safe tool planning assessment.
