摘要: A new human T cell surface antigen, Leu-5, has been defined using a set of monoclonal antibodies that block rosette formation between lymphocytes and sheep erythrocytes (SRBC). Four obtained from 2 different fusions immunized mouse strains all reacted with the same antigen. All these gave identical quantitative immunofluorescence (FACS) profiles, staining profiles intensities when used singly or in combinations, precipitated molecule. The antigen is single polypeptide chain, 40,000 to 50,000 Mr, found on thymocytes, peripheral cells, some null but not B cells. Leu-5 differentiation decreases density as thymocytes mature lymphocytes. Thus, Leu-5+ subpopulations ranked order decreasing are: subpopulation subcapsular greater than cortical medullary cells (cytotoxic/suppressor subset) (helper/inducer subset). distribution pattern parallels relative affinity for SRBC. We suggest either closely associated lymphocyte receptor
