摘要: This study tests the hypothesis that reactivation of a latent herpes simplex virus infection may be cause recurrent duodenal ulceration. Patients with recently healed ulcer were entered into double blind, randomised maintenance treatment antiviral drug acyclovir (400 mg bid) versus placebo, to determine if suppression would influence natural history disease. One hundred and fifteen patients trial 76 completed it according protocol. Endoscopy was performed when symptoms recurred at end 25 week period. In group cumulated relapse rate 63% compared 56% in placebo (NS). result suggests is not ulcer.
