摘要: One of the major challenges developmental biology is understanding inductive and morphogenetic processes that shape vertebrate embryo. In a large-scale genetic screen for zygotic effect, embryonic lethal mutations in zebrafish we have identified 25 affect specification cell fates and/or cellular rearrangements during gastrulation. These define at least 14 complementation groups, four which correspond to previously genes. Phenotypic analysis ten novel loci revealed three groups causing distinct effects on gastrula. group comprises lead deficiencies dorsal mesodermal central nervous system patterning. Mutations from second formation ventroposterior structures. We suggest these two identify genes necessary formation, maintenance or function organizer ventral signaling pathway, respectively. third primarily gastrulation complex This group, some extent first processes, epiboly, convergence extension, tail morphogenesis. provide an approach control vertebrates.
