Description of complete DNA sequence of two plasmids from the nukacin ISK-1 producer, Staphylococcus warneri ISK-1.

摘要: We report the whole DNA sequence of two plasmids, pPI-1 (30.2 kb) and pPI-2 (2.8 kb). These plasmids are from Staphylococcus warneri ISK-1, which produces a lantibiotic, nukacin ISK-1. Curing resulted in loss bactericidal activity culture supernatant host's immunity to suggesting that biosynthetic genes bacteriocin encoded by pPI-1. Based on results homology search each open reading flame, is comprised following four distinct regions: (1) ISK-1 biosynthesis gene cluster, (2) thioredoxin (3) replication region, (4) region epidermidis ATCC 12228, highly homologous pSE-12228-05. Gene organization cluster different other lacticin-481 type clusters. The features protein replicating somewhat staphylococcus theta-replicating plasmids. disinfectant resistant gene, qacC, showed significant similarity those qacC such as pSK108, belongs plasmid group.
