摘要: Maspin, a non-inhibitory member of the serine protease inhibitor superfamily, has been characterized as tumor suppressor gene in multiple cancer types. Among established anti-tumor effects Maspin are inhibition cell invasion, attachment to extracellular matrices, increased sensitivity apoptosis, and angiogenesis. However, while significant experimental data support role suppressor, clinical regarding prognostic implications expression have led conflicting results. This highlights need for better understanding context dependencies normal biology how these perturbed cancer. In this review, we outline regulation roles developmental discussing novel evidence emerging theories related its functions We provide insight into immense therapeutic potential challenges successful translation.
