摘要: Retinopathy and choroidal angiopathy were both detected in aged male rats of the WBN/Kob strain with sustained diabetes. Hyperglycemia glucosuria found starting from 12 months age lasted through 24 age. Macroscopically, vitreous body was partially or entirely replaced by white mass 3 9 diabetic males. Histopathologically, intravitreal consisted collagen fibers accompanied numbers newly formed vessels. Intraretinal vessels, which observed within retina 5 males, marked hyalinization intraretinal vessels 6 males irrespective presence neovascularization. Furthermore, hyperglycemia-related also seen blood originating choroid penetrating retinal pigment epithelial layer invading 8 Focal proliferation degeneration cells associated region angiopathy. In females, slightly raised layer; however, they localized choroid. The present study indicates that is a useful model for retinopathy
