Dynamic response of preoptic and hypothalamic neurons to scrotal thermal stimulation in rats.

摘要: Activities of preoptic and anterior hypothalamic (POAH) neurons were recorded in anesthetized rats response to serotal thermal stimulation. Thirteen out 54 responsive changes scrotal temperature (Tser) showed dynamic responses. Four these increased 3 decreased their firing rates responding dynamically warming but not cooling. Six other inhibited by cooling only. These responses produced even as slow 2 C/min only when the scrotum was warmed or cooled theTser range above 35° C. are suggested be a result signal processing supraspinal structures including POAH itself.
