摘要: An outbreak in a neonatal intensive care nursery of severe infections caused by Klebsiella pneumoniae type K-17 has been studied. Over 9-month period 20 epidemiological!) linked cases septicemia, meningitis and pneumonia were diagnosed. The specific epidemic strain could be identified. After introduction policy hygienic measures the nosocomial infection eradicated although colonization still occurred. Thorough handwashing before after nursing each infant, individual gowning disposable gloves infants below 1500 g important. changing bacterial ecology unit should followed closely weekly routine throat cultures as well incubators ventilation equipment. present investigation shown importance this procedure, which is mandatory for appropriate choice antimicrobial agents when treating critically ill or very low birth weight unit...
