摘要: Background and aims: Metabolic syndrome osteoporosis are recognized as major public health problems in many countries. This study investigated the association between bone quality components of metabolic an elderly population. Methods: The included a population sample 211 men women, mean age 77.9±4.5 years. Anthropometry, blood pressure, serum levels lipoproteins (HDL LDL), triglycerides glucose were measured, ultrasound densitometry was performed all subjects. Information on lifestyle habits, including physical activity, smoking alcohol consumption, obtained by questionnaire. Results: syndrome, defined criteria International Diabetes Federation, determined 59% 65% women. quantitative index (QUI) significantly correlated with (r=−0.31; p=0.005) body mass (BMI) women (r=0.39; p<0.0001). QUI lower (F=7.57; p<0.007) higher it (F=6.47; p=0.012) compared controls. When adjusted for men, no longer different from values Other covariates such cholesterol, smoking, alcohol, activity did not change difference patients (p=0.005) obesity waist circumference (p<0.05) also significant predictors regression analysis. Conclusions: stiffness people may be explained increased BMI high men.
