摘要: ABSTRACTBoth repulsive and attractive molecular interactions can be used to explain the onset of nematic order. The object this paper is combine these two nematogenic in a unified theory. This attempt not unprecedented; what perhaps new focus on understanding nematics high density limit. There, orientational probability distribution shown exhibit unique feature: it has compact support configuration space. As are turned on, behaviour changes, at critical interaction strength, thermotropic Maier-Saupe type attained.
