Incidence of dermatophytoses in rabbit farms in Catalonia, Spain, and its repercussion on human health.

摘要: Over the past decades there has been an important increase in incidence of dermatophytoses humans as a result contact with animals, although etiological agents can vary animals transmitting disease. A large-scale study was carried out 220 farms raising rabbits for consumption. Most (85%) were located autonomous community Catalonia (Spain). Mycological studies showed that 79.5% infected Trichophyton mentagrophytes var. granulosum. Microsporum canis isolated only two which had imported from France. Healthy animal carriers detected 3.2% apparently non-infected farms. T. also found samples taken rabbits' nests and surrounding environment In survey among staff responsible care 77% those working on suffered or dermatophytic lesions. This confirmed 8 10 cases sampled. Attention is drawn to high importance agent tinea people close animals.
