摘要: Several rheumatologic manifestations are more pronounced in subjects with diabetes, ie, frozen shoulder, rotator cuff tears, Dupuytren’s contracture, trigger finger, cheiroarthropathy the upper limb, and Achilles tendinopathy plantar fasciitis lower limb. These conditions can limit range of motion affected joint, thereby impairing function ability to perform activities daily living. This review provides a short description diabetes-related joint diseases, specific pathogenetic mechanisms involved, role inflammation, overuse, genetics, each which activates complex sequence biochemical alterations. Diabetes is causative factor tendon diseases amplifies damage induced by other agents as well. According an accepted hypothesis, damaged tissue diabetes caused excess advanced glycation end products, forms covalent cross-links within collagen fibers alters their structure function. Moreover, they interact variety cell surface receptors, activating number effects, including pro-oxidant proinflammatory events. Adiposity age, commonly associated type 2 mellitus, further factors. Prevention strict control this metabolic disorder essential, because it has been demonstrated that limited related duration disease hyperglycemia. treatments used clinical practice, but action not completely understood, efficacy also debated.
