摘要: Abstract Study Objective To determine the effects of a flash light in different colors on frequency and severity pain during venous cannulation. Design Double-blinded, randomized controlled study. Setting Operating room university hospital. Patients 120 adult, ASA physical status 1 2 patients undergoing elective surgery, Interventions were allocated to 4 groups. Patients' faces photographed with camera without first receiving (control group), white (white blue (blue or red (red group). With 20-gauge cannula, vein dorsum nondominant hand was cannulated immediately after light. Measurements Severity measured by Visual Analog Scale (VAS), Verbal Rating (VRS), FACES Pain (FPS), frequencies compared. Main Results The group had lowest scores as VAS, followed group, then all lower than control (0.9 ± 0.61, 1.37 0.67, 2.4 1.13, 4.63 1.5, respectively; P Conclusions Application before cannulation decreased associated venipuncture. This method is an effective, easy perform, inexpensive way reduce
