摘要: We report here an outbreak of acute disease that caused high mortality rate in laboratory-reared tilapia larvae. The was initially observed inbred gynogenetic line blue larvae (Oreochromis aureus) and could be transmitted to other species. Based on the clinical manifestation (a whirling syndrome), we refer as viral encephalitis disease-associated DNA virus is described accordingly designated (TLEV). A primary morphological, biophysical molecular characterization TLEV presented. By virtue these properties, newly discovered a herpes-like virus. Phylogenetic analysis, albeit limited, confirms this assumption places within family Herpesviridae distantly from families Alloherpesviridae Iridoviridae. using PCR with virus-specific primers, diseased adult carriers were also identified delivered external hatcheries.
