摘要: Abstract Since the 1950s, provision of housing, services and infrastructure has not kept pace with rapid population expansion Istanbul. While some modern districts have become comparatively more attractive, historic lost due to deterioration their neighbourhoods. These changes created locational advantages disadvantages which are reflected in urban land markets resulted intra-urban migration. In this study, residential preferences individuals investigated respect socio-economic characteristics general districts. The result a survey evaluated cross-tabulation. Thus, proximity relatives, clean quiet neighbourhood stable social environment common factors for all income groups. This illustrates traditional values that transcend levels, as well universal desire escape environmental pollution large city. results study can be useful city development plans house-building programmes.
