Domestic Violence among Pregnant Mothers in Northwest Ethiopia: Prevalence and Associated Factors

摘要: Background. Domestic violence against women is a serious public health concern and human rights violation among pregnant mothers because of its negative effect on the life both mother fetus. Thus, aim this study was to assess prevalence domestic associated factors women. Methods. An institution based quantitative cross-sectional conducted 418 using systematic random sampling technique. Binary logistic regression analysis adjusted odds ratio with 95% confidence interval were used identify factors. Results. Overall, found be 25.4%. Of this, psychological, physical, sexual 24.5%, 8.1%, 2.4%, respectively. Low educational status (AOR = 4.59, CI: 1.496, 14.070), rural residency 5.53, 2.311, 13.249), unplanned pregnancy 4.34, 2.345, 8.020), late initiation antenatal care 5.41, 1.493, 19.696) at value < 0.05. Conclusion. more than quarter participants had experienced violence. Lower status, residency, pregnancy, authors suggest strengthening provision women’s reproductive information.
