摘要: Abstract Transient amplification of short Nd-glass laser pulses (1.15 ps) in a Nd: YLF amplifier stage is investigated for small (≈20 nJ) and moderately large (1.4 μJ) input amplitudes. Coherent pulse reshaping, stretching (factor 2.4) corresponding spectral gain narrowing are studied as functions factor. Homogeneous broadening the transition at 1.054 μm inferred from approximately exponential decay trailing wing. A quantitative analysis coherent propagation effect yields dephasing time. T 2 =0.90±0.05 ps, negligible inhomogeneous ⩽5%. Pulses duration ⩾2.5 ps energy ⩾ 100μJ shown to be feasible hybrid glass-YLF system with 15 Hz repetition rate.
