摘要: Abstract Background The purpose of the study was to evaluate prognostic value sarcopenia (muscle loss) in patients with metastatic urothelial carcinoma (UC), a comparison several methods computed tomography (CT)-based evaluation sarcopenia. Patients and Methods We retrospectively reviewed 100 UC who underwent first-line systemic chemotherapy between 2003 2014. Sarcopenia assessed by following CT-based methods: skeletal muscle index (SMI), total psoas area (TPA), axial and/or transversal thickness at level third lumbar vertebrae, umbilicus (U-TPT). All parameters were standardized either height or squared. Cutoff points SMI: Results Sixty-four met eligibility criterion for analysis: those CT scans within 30 days before chemotherapy. Of them, 52 (81%) died during follow-up, median survival time 13 months. Univariate analysis associated decreased SMI, TPA, U-TPT poor CSS. Multivariate together other pretreatment clinicopathologic showed SMI be an independent predictor Conclusion Evaluation using prognosis Our results might improve stratification help optimize
