摘要: Building accurate knowledge of the identity, geographicdistribution and evolution living species is essentialfor a sustainable development humanity as well forbiodiversity conservation. In this context, using multimediaidentication tools considered one most promisingsolution to help bridging taxonomic gap. With therecent advances in digital devices/equipment, network bandwidthand information storage capacities, production ofmultimedia big data has indeed become an easy task. parallel, the emergence citizen sciences social networkingtools fostered creation large structured communitiesof nature observers (e.g. eBird, Xeno-canto, TelaBotanica, etc.) that have started produce outstandingcollections multimedia records. Unfortunately, performanceof state-of-the-art analysis techniqueson such still not understood far fromreaching real world's requirements terms identi-cation tools. The LifeCLEF lab proposes evaluate thesechallenges around 3 tasks related informationretrieval ne-grained classication problems livingworlds. Each task based on real-world andthe measured challenges are dened collaboration withbiologists environmental stakeholders order reflect realistic usage scenarios.
