摘要: The Drosophila fruitless (fru) gene product Fru has been postulated to be a neural sex-determination factor that directs the development of at least two male-specific characteristics, namely courtship behaviour and formation muscle Lawrence (MOL). fru encodes putative transcription with BTB domain zinc-finger motifs, consensus Tra-binding sequences. binding Tra these sequences results in sex-specific alternative splicing mRNA, leading production 'male-type' or 'female-type' protein. We show here protein is not detected female central nervous system (CNS), despite similar level expression mRNA both male CNS. As ectopic (with sequence for amino-terminal extension) (without cDNA can induce MOL females, presence absence protein, its structure, seems responsible sexually dimorphic actions gene.
